Born and raised in Bakersfield, he graduated from Garces Memorial High School and attended Bakersfield College, where he decided to go to work in the oil and gas 行业. Motivated by a desire to fight back against government overreach and to preserve the unique qualities that make Kern County great, he has prioritized community service and has been active in a number of boards, 委员会, 和非营利组织. These include serving as a member of the Workforce投资委员会, the Kern County Oil Contractors Association, and the Association of Builders and Contractors 政府 Affairs Board.

Supervisor Peters believes that government works best when focused on creating opportunity. Having worked in both oil and agriculture, Peters has experienced first-hand the challenges these industries face, as well as the many benefits they bring to Kern County. As co-owner of Williams Cleaning Systems, he knows well the burdensome regulations imposed on business owners by the State of California and has consistently used his voice to fight back against policies that restrain our county’s growth. Phillip has written multiple published articles on topics ranging from water and energy policy to labor and education.

In 2014 菲利普·彼得斯 was elected to the Kern High School District Board, where he focused on improving access to career technical education, providing 更多的 choices in children’s education, 赋予本地教育工作者权力, and ensuring accountability and transparency at all levels of education.

Desiring to apply his experience to Countywide issues Phillip went to work for former Supervisor Mick Gleason. This allowed the future Supervisor to comprehend the particular challenges facing the First District and become uniquely positioned to continue building on previous successes.

From the military and aerospace industries, 去吃和吃油, Phillip has an in-depth familiarity with the diversity of each region in this geographically large district and is committed to bridging the gap between East and West Kern and working to ensure the success of both.
